My family shops mostly at Smiths and Walmart. It has been the only way to afford feeding a family of 3 adults and a kid, along with countless friends. But with this whole Occupy movement I want to do my part to take my money away from big corporations and try to keep it here in Albuquerque.
I looked at all of the local grocery stores Smiths, Albertsons, Trader Joes, John Brooks and Sunflower Market. The only locally owned store is John Brooks. We went shopping there today to see how their prices compared to Smiths and Walmart. Here is what we found:
Meat, cheese, fresh produce: Very comperable
Canned soup, beans: way over priced
cheese, eggs: Very comperable
